Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini Too Many Pattern Attempts and Locked

+1 vote

Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini handset locked and not able to unlock it as I forgot the Gmail ID or may be password. I tried to boot into recovery mode in order to reset to data/factory settings. I pressed Volume Up + Home key + Power button after turning off the device. But it boots into normal mode (not recovery mode). Now, what is the procedure to unlock Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini from this too many pattern attempts?

I also tried with the key combination in the phone to boot into recovery mode and it's not working for me too. But I have a solution for you to unlock your phone by boting into recover mode by ADB FASTBOOT/Bootloader mode.

  • Install and configure the ADB Bootloader/Fastboot drivers on your Windows PC using Android SDK (Tutorial for this here: http://www.redmondpie.com/how-to-set-up-android-adb-and-fastboot-on-windows-tutorial/
  • Connect the Galaxy S3 Mini to computer via cable
  • Now go to android-sdk-windowsplatform-tools
  • Press Shift button in keyboard and right click from your mouse and go to command prompt
  • Now in the command prompt, type the below command and your phone will be rebooted into recovery mode.

adb reboot recovery

Now, you can reset the device's data/factory settings.

i didnt understand shift key and  right click. please give details
It means, hold shift (shft) button of your PC keyboard and right click on the tools after opening it.
I am trying to use your suggestion but cannot get my mini to connect to my pc. I have tried to install Kies to help with finding drivers for the phone, but Kies won't install. Any other suggestions on how to convince my PC (Windows 7 64-bit) that it know what the USB device is?
